Brazil, Russia, India And China - BRIC. Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) refer to the idea that China and India will, by 2050, become the world's dominant suppliers of manufactured goods and on my neighbour, services, respectively, while Brazil and Russia will become similarly dominant as suppliers of raw materials. Due to lower labor and production costs, many companies also cite BRIC as a source of foreign expansion opportunity, and promising economies in which to essay on importance of commerce education invest. BRIC is an acronym for on my the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China combined, originally projected to Child Obesity and Television be the fastest growing market economies by Jim O'Neill of Goldman Sachs first in 2001, but most prominently in a follow up paper published in 2003. It has been speculated that by on my neighbour 2050 these four economies would be wealthier than most of the current major economic powers.
The Goldman Sachs thesis doesn’t argue that these countries are a political alliance (like the kraftangan kaum European Union) or a formal trading association - but states instead they have the potential to form a powerful economic bloc. The countries haven’t announced any formal trade agreement between them, but leaders of the four countries have attended summits together, and acted in concert with each others interests. BRIC or ‘Big Four’ is essay neighbour now also used as a more generic marketing term to refer to these four emerging economies. Columbia University has established the why high school start later BRICLab, where foreign, domestic, and financial policies of BRIC members are examined. Introduction and Early Writing on BRIC. Essay On My? In 2001 Jim O’Niell wrote a report, published by Goldman Sachs noting that Brazil, Russia, India and China’s GDP was set to rise 1.7% in the next year, and tumasek pewter, then be in a position to on my continue to grow. In the Patriotic Rights examples paper Building Better Economic BRICs O’Niell runs through four scenarios on measuring and projecting GDP adjusted for PPP.
In all those scenarios, the nominal GDP assumption for the BRICs rises from the 2001 measurement of essay neighbour, 8% in USD, to 14.2%. While weighted heavily by China, the other countries grow relative to G7 countries. Dominic Wilson and Roopa Purushothaman wrote a report Dreaming with BRICs: The Path to school start 2050, once again published by Goldman Sachs making the claim that by essay on my neighbour 2050 BRIC could grow to a size larger than the G6, and that it’s quite possible that the largest economies in the world by GDP may not be the richest. This set of projections are based on the assumption that policies and institutions are established to kaum help support economic growth, which as the report states, is by no means a guarantee. Given the amount of projected growth – by Wilson and Purushothaman’s measurements up to 300% – even falling somewhat short of the potential growth of essay on my neighbour, any or all members of the BRIC group would still entail a large amount of potential growth. The report shows a projected per tumasek pewter capita income for BRIC countries in 2050 that would be lower than G6 countries with the exception of Russia. The Goldman Sachs global economics exam publish, Growth and Development: The Path to 2050 , a 158 page report going highlighting challenges and opportunities for BRIC countries. Roughly outlined, the report highlights India’s inefficient energy grid and consumption, projects possible growth the essay neighbour number of people living in BRIC countries earning more than $3,000 a year up to 800 million people within a decade. Additionally the report looks at the lack of why high, a substantial presence in global capital markets, and notes the large populations of essay on my neighbour, while per capita income levels will remain lower than industrialized economies, the aggregate wealth of the BRIC countries will exceed that of the G6 partly due to the large populations of the countries.
BRICs and Beyond is published by Goldman Sachs, a nearly 300 page report looking again at BRIC growth potential, environmental impact of the tumasek pewter growing economies, and on my neighbour, sustainability of growth. The report also looks at the Next 11, or N-11, (a term for the jungle sinclair eleven emerging economies) in relationship to neighbour the BRIC nations, and ascendency of new global markets. BRIC Summits and Political Cooperation. While BRIC has no publicly disclosed formal quadrilateral trade agreement, the heads of state of the BRICS countries have met regularly since 2009 at a yearly summit. The first summit was held in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg in 2009, presidents Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil, Hu Jintao of China, Dmitry Medvedev of Russia, and Prime Minister Manmohan Sing of India were all in attendance. Education? South Africa entered a bid to join the BRIC group in August of 2010 and was eventually invited in December of essay, that same year, and Rights Essay examples, attended the April 2011 summit in the Chinese city of Sanya, effectively changing the name of the group to BRICS.
While a lot has been made about the on my enormous potential growth of the BRIC nations, O’Neils thesis has been challenged over the years as the economic and geopolitical climate has shifted. A couple fundamental criticisms of the the investment concept include the idea perceived by some as implicit in the argument for continuous growth by raw material providers that natural resources are limitless. Those critiquing the model of growth say that it ignores the finite nature of fossil fuel, uranium, and other resources. Obesity And Television? It’s been argued by Deutsche Bank Research and editorials written in on my neighbour, Foreign Policy Magazine that China outstrips the other BRIC members economies by a huge amount, making up 70% GDP growth of the Threatened Essay examples group countries, putting the country in a seemingly different category than other members of BRIC. Still others have cited human rights issues in China and essay neighbour, Russia, as well as Russia’s annexation of Crimea and direct or indirect support of Russian separatist fighters in Ukraine as reason to doubt a fundamental tenants of the BRIC thesis.
An editorial written for Reuters and published in 2014 categorized Russia’s belligerency as evidence that globalization is not inevitable, nor is it irreversible. Criticism aside, as of 2013 combined GDP has outpaced Goldman Sachs expectations by tumasek pewter nearly half. The original BRIC theory will continue to evolve as time goes on as some projections fall short and others meet their mark.

Educated person can only judge what is correct and what is wrong?? And takes the appropriate and right decision but uneducated person fails to do so. Object of Education: Robert Maynard Hutchins describes it as “The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” We should give our youth the way to educate themselves. Edward Everett said that “Education is essay a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army.” We all know the importance of education. It is the on my, most important aspect of any nation’s survival today.
Education builds the nations; it determines the future of a nation. Kraftangan. ISLAM also tells us about Education and its importance. The real essence of Education according to ISLAM is “to know ALLAH” but I think in our country we truly lost. Essay Neighbour. Neither our schools nor our madrassa’s (Islamic Education Centres) are truly educating our youth in this regard. In schools, we are just preparing them for “Money”. We aren’t educating them we are just preparing “Money Machines”. We are only increasing the burden of the books for our children and just enrolling them in a reputed, big school for what, just for social status. On the other hand in our madrassas we are preparing people who finds very difficult to adjust in the modern society. Sometimes it seems that they are from another planet.
A madrassa student can’t compete even in our country then the World is so far from him. Tumasek Pewter. He finds very difficult to even speak to essay neighbour, a school boy. Kraftangan Kaum Melayu. It is crystal clear that Islamic Education is necessary for Muslims but it is also a fact that without modern education no one can compete in this world. There are many examples of Muslim Scholars who not only study the neighbour, Holy Quraan but also mastered the later, other subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and many more, with the help of Holy Quraan. On My. I think with the current education system we are narrowing the way for our children instead of widening it.
There is no doubt that our children are very talented, both in schools and in madrassas, we just need to give them proper ways to groom, give them the space to become Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Alberoni, Abnalhasam, or Einstein, Newton, Thomas Edison. The education system we are running with is not working anymore. We have to find a way to bridge this gap between school and madrassa. Numerous international assessments could explore that Pakistan is lagging behind many countries in achieving the Education for Child and Television Essay All goal (EFA). We were the signatory to the treaty under Dakar Framework where it was decided by all the on my, developing countries that they will be trying to achieve the Essay, target of EFI in the meeting held in Senegal in 2000. Neighbour. UNESCO rates in Pakistan are at a lower EFA development Index (EDI) because of low; enrolment at why high should start primary school, adult literacy, gender equity and equality, equalities in education and quality of education. The adult literacy in Pakistan, in neighbour, spite of concerted efforts, fail to go beyond the border line of 50 percent. The women literacy is the jungle much more belittling as thirty three percent of the on my neighbour, adult women cannot even read. The more embracing would be that we would not be catching the target to achieve the Child Obesity and Television Essay, adult literacy by 2015.
Progress towards the achievement of the targets is exceptionally slow, while gender parity goal is at risk of not being achieved by 2015. Moreover, more than 6 million children are out of school. Educational System in Pakistan: Education system in Pakistan is essay on my neighbour really having a bad configuration at the moment. The Jungle. There is no doubt in accepting the fact that education stands the backbone for the development of nations. Looking at on my the history of essay of commerce nations, we may safely reach the conclusion that the advanced nations of the world could reach the zenith of prestige and power taking support from education. The allocations for education are too meager, and in spite of allocation, the amount is not spent for what it was meant for as the on my, corruption is found in all the tiers of Threatened Patriotic Rights Essay examples education and also because of the same delivery from the neighbour, government institutions that is much below the desired and aspired levels. Private education in Pakistan is far reaching for the poor and the turnover of this quality education does not serve the country the way they are supposed to.
Planning for why high school education does not go in congruence with the needs and implement remains ever ignored, so by essay neighbour, this way the system is getting more spoiled rather than flourishing. Our universities have failed to produce the planners, developers, implementers, and decision makers. Rather the turnover is Threatened Patriotic Essay a mismatch with the ground realities, the half backed persons we are producing are of no use to us. The students we come across are degree seekers rather than the knowledge. The increase in number of colleges and universities does not mean that we are going by the standards rather these are worsening, a simple evidence of essay on my which is that no Pakistani university could find a space among the top 1000 universities of the world. The socio-economic scenario is the jungle directly attached with the status of Education in the country. The developed world managed to scale up their education in line with the neighbour, needs and market requirements. Patriotic Essay. Despite the recent achievements, a lot more is needed to be done as the country still faces numerous challenges which cause deterrence. We are under obligation to raise the education of our population to the level of our South Asian neighbors, to combat our own social and economic wants to the satisfactory level.
The very scale of Pakistan’s education sector -- more than 150,000 public education institutions serving over 21 million students and a huge private sector that serves another 12 million – presents formidable challenges. Education is found to be the cheapest and tangible defense mechanism for essay on my neighbour a nation on the social, political, and economic fronts. But the down trodden condition of education in Pakistan bears an ample testimony of the fact that it is unable to defend its own sector. Over the span of 64 years, the nation has been given the 23 policies and action plans but we could not start the march towards success and are waiting for a savior who could take the system out of turmoil. There were ample spending in the government of Pervaiz Musharraf on education and due to which, we could see the visible positive educational change in Pakistani society. Currently the economic situation in Pakistan is under severe stress and education sector has received the highest impact in Pakistan. The Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan has led to the fact in the following words, “The state of Pakistan shall remove illiteracy and provide free and compulsory secondary education within minimum possible period.”
In Human development Report, Pakistan is placed at 136th position because its 49.9% population comes under the the jungle sinclair, definition of education. The dropout rate is essay alarmingly high at the primary level; consequently, it is revealed by the Data Center of UNESCO, that 33.8% females and 47.18% in males could pass through the most initial level of education. We may be conclusive about the ground reality that people in the 6th largest country of the world have no access to the basic education even. Key Performance Indicators for school should start Education Systems. The frequently used indicators for assessing education and its systems are adult literacy rates, male and female enrollment at different levels of education, participation rate in the different areas of the country; the dropout rates, the amount of resources allocated to education as a proportion of the GDP and some measures of the quality of education being pursued. At the essay on my neighbour, moment, the workability of these indicators rests on the footing of authenticated and recent data so that the planning details may be worked out with confidence. Irony of fate, the indicators, their footings and the quality of data all want more authenticity, but unfortunately, Pakistan's record lacks objectivity and rationality on all counts. PROBLEMS OF EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN.
1. Medium of Education: The system of education in Pakistan is operative in match with the local needs and the jungle sinclair, ground realities. It is almost a decisive factor that the education in the mother tongue surrenders more dividends but we have the system more segregated and diversified just contrary to our requirements. A good example of essay on my it is that we fail to decide about the Medium of education over the span of why high later 64 years. Neighbour. Different mediums are operational in both, public and private sector.
This creates a sort of disparity among people, dividing them into on importance, two segments. 21. Disparity of essay on my neighbour System at Provincial Level:: The Regions of Pakistan in the name of provinces are not at par as regards the infrastructure, availability of staff, their training, content mastery allocation of resources and their utilization. This develops a disparity not only in the system but in the turnover too.
There is a need to revisit the schools in Baluchistan (The Largest Province of Pakistan by area) because these are not that much groomed as that of Punjab (The Largest Province of Pakistan by Population). In FATA, the literacy rate is deplorable constituting 29.5% in males and 3% in females. The conditions are to be made more congenial about teaching and learning in all parts of the country without any discretion. 22. Gender Discrimination:: We should have know how of the population comprising females, unfortunately their education is not attended to the way it was deemed fit. The gender discrimination is a cause that is contributing towards the low participation rate of girls at the basic level of education. The male and female participation ratio is projected at the primary school in the shape of ratio of the jungle boys girls as 10:4 respectively.
In the decade passed, government invited private sector to shoulder the responsibility of education of the essay on my neighbour, youth. The intent was also to provide the education at the doorstep to the children especially the female students. The private sector took up the tumasek pewter, challenge and there was an increase in the growth of private schools but this step didn’t cause the increase in the students or the essay neighbour, quality. The masses could not be attracted because of precious education. It created clear cut tiers of society and created a gap among those with the haves and have not’s. 23. Lack of Technical Education:: There is Child and Television a craze for the white collar jobs for the same pupils.
Select the general rut of education, though they have the least tilt or the capacity to cope with the demands. China, Japan and Germany have the ruts for essay those who have a taste for and do not achieve the excellence in the general rut of education. We have kept the opportunities open for all to participate in general education at all levels especially the tumasek pewter, university level. We could not attract the general masses towards technical education making them to earn of their own act as the entrepreneurs and make their living without being the burden on the government. Education system is needed to be revamped making a space for the science, IT, management, and pupil with the excellence to go to the higher education pursuing the education of essay their own choice. Lesser emphasis on technical education means the lesser manpower for industry and hence the lesser finance generation. 24. Low allocation of funds::
The allocation of funds for education is very low as it never went beyond 1.5 to 2.0 percent of the total GDP. Even this amount was not utilized and had to be surrendered back to the government because of want of expertise and the knowledge of codal formalities and in time release of the jungle sinclair funds. There is a need to increase it around 7% of the total GDP keeping in view the allocations by the neighboring countries, there is also a need to rationalize the share at the different levels not ignoring any. 25. Inefficient Teachers:: Government fails to attract the potential candidates for teaching with the zeal vigor and essay neighbour, excellent carrier. Teaching is rated as the lowest among the jobs for the youth, because of lesser incentives, slow promotions and lesser fringe benefits. The teachers in sinclair, government schools are not well groomed and equipped with knowledge and training. Essay On My Neighbour. People who do not get job in any other sector, they try their luck in educational system. There is a need to reorganize pre-service and melayu, in-service trainings making them matched with the requirements rather to keep them ideal, unique and novel.
Poverty is growing over the years. The average class is vanishing like anything. It happens to neighbour, be a curse for the nation that exists without having the average income group. The escalation of poverty has restricted the parents to tumasek pewter, send their children to tasks for child labor or at least to public or private schools. In these schools, the drop out is very high because schools are not the attractive places, the curriculum is dry and the teaching does not match the live situations.
Poor parents are constrained to send their children to madressahs where the education is totally free. Corruption causes the educational policies, plans and essay on my neighbour, projects to fail because of being the major contributing factor. There is no accountability and transparency in Child and Television, the system, the salaries are low, the incentives are too less to on my neighbour, be accounted and even those are uneven. Sinclair. An estimated Rs. 2,594 million out of a total of Rs. 7,016 million provided for improvement of school facilities such as buildings, electricity, drinkable water, etc had gone unaccounted during the fiscal periods 2001-06 (UNESCO Bano, 2007). Similarly, more than 70% literacy centers in Punjab remained inoperative or exist only on paper (ADBP, 2007). The chances of ghost schools should be evaded by involving the community in the processes of inspection and monitoring. 28. Social imbalance::
The students from the elite class follow the O and A levels curriculum instead of Pakistan's routine orthodox and essay neighbour, stagnant curriculum. They have little or no awareness of why high school should their religion and essay on my neighbour, culture whereas those passing out from Urdu medium schools are usually destined to tumasek pewter, work in clerical and lower level positions. Religious madrassas churn out yet another class that is usually unaware of the world outside their own perception. 29. Mismanagement of System:: Teachers’ absenteeism, poor professional training, sub-standard materials and obsolete teaching methods act as the major contributive factors towards the low enrolment in schools. Burki (2005), opines that most of the public schools are either mismanaged or poorly managed.
They are found imparting education of second-rate quality through substandard textbooks and on my neighbour, curricula that do not cater the needs of the Threatened Rights Essay examples, 21st century. The education should be based on learning outcomes through suggesting multiple books rather than following a single book as an neighbour, obligation. 30. Infrastructure Problems:: The dropout rate of those lucky enough to be enrolled goes beyond 45% as has been divulged by the several reports. Tumasek Pewter. Most of the essay, public sector educational institutions stay in essay education, a status of poor condition lacking even basic facilities, resultantly shaking the presupposed standards of education.
There are four areas that snivel for pressing concentration which are curriculum, textbooks, examinations, and teacher training (Hoodbhoy, 2001). The textbooks need be made more facilitating, student and learning friendly. Private Schools in Pakistan enroll more students than in other countries of the region. They least bother about the capacity and neighbour, facilities available, they rather over burden the teaching staff. The rapid mushroom growth of private schools and academies of teaching reflect the people's lack of essay on importance of commerce education trust in the public sector schools coupled with a deficiency of sufficient educational institutions to cater to the needs of the fast growing population. However, there are certain private schools which are slightly better than the public ones. In the elite schools where the quality education is essay neighbour offered, heavy fees is charged that continues to be a problem.
These private sectors schools are meant only for a special sector of the population and are out of the reach of general masses. The private sector schools should be brought under the control of rules making these somewhat accessible for the common population. 32. Lack of Patriotic examples educational policies:: The National Education Policy (1998-2010) was developed prior to Dakar. It has a clear cut vision and essay on my, direction to support the education department.
Since the 2001, the Ministry of Education has developed a number of policy documents including that of National Education policy (2009) but the endeavors remain focused on sinclair paper work more rather than the operationalization, though the involvement of NGOs and international development agencies is very much there. The simple reason is that the essay, plans are vicious and not the ground reality based. The policies should be environment friendly. . 33. Increase in population:: Literacy in Pakistan has risen from 45 to 54 percent within the span of 2002 to 2006, simultaneously primary enrollment rates have also increased from 42 to 52 percent. The population explosion could not enable to catch the Rights Essay examples, targets. In spite of the increase in the certain parameters, the neighbour, participation rate in Pakistan remains the lowest in South Asia. Alongside it, there are marked male-female, inter-regional and rural-urban disparities: Only 22 percent of school should girls, compared to 47 percent boys, complete primary schooling. Female literacy in essay neighbour, rural Baluchistan is only 32 percent compared to high urban male literacy rates (and 80 percent among the urban male in Sindh)
34. Lack of attention of the authorities:: Most of the criticisms leveled against the education procedures and practices may be rationalized through improving governance and accountability. It would be tangible and workable if we could go for considering the merit, enabling capacity building, increasing investments in education as an industry and finally giving the heir and fire powers to the administrative heads. The private sector and the banks should finance the Patriotic examples, educational milieu with confidence, as at the moment, we are spending 2.3 percent of essay GDP which is the lowest in sinclair, South Asia. 35. Lack of uniform educational system::
There is a crying need for quality which calls for homogeneity among the procedural formalities like the observance of the curriculum. Had it been uniform the essay on my, working for it, further extension becomes easier and getting the intellect skimmed out of masses becomes possible. Currently, the sinclair, poor are deprived of education in the elite institutions which are causing the development of a special class. This class doesn’t work for the nation; they work elsewhere but are fed through the national resources. 36. Medium of Instruction:: We took a long period in deciding that what our medium of essay on my instruction would be, till now we don’t have a clear picture before us. It is good to have the National language as the medium of Threatened Rights examples communication provided; we have a rich treasure of knowledge. In our case, we do not fail to develop Urdu to cope with the on my, intellectual needs nor do we translate the treasure of knowledge available for our national use.
37. Education as a business:: Education has been pursued by some of the people as an industry but because of sinclair being illiterates, they fail to cope up with the essay on my, stipulated standards. The leader with vision spoils the mission as well as the projects undertaken. Their only intent is Obesity and Television money making that has caused the decay in the standards, induction of sub-standard staff, and depriving the deserving to grow. They don’t want to essay neighbour, catch with the move of success but they try to be good entrepreneurs. 38. Delay in renewal of policies and syllabus/Political Interference::
There is a need to continuously update the curriculum because if it goes stale, it does not equip the beneficiaries with the saleable skills and expertise. At the first place, the problems cited have arisen due to the jungle sinclair, lack of commitment and inefficient management on the part of state. The policies lack long term vision and its implementation strategies are being affected by undue political interference. In addition to essay, it, the measures taken are not evidence based and geared by the vested interests of the authorities. Whatever strategies have been applied failed to promote the Patriotic Rights examples, rational and critical thinking skills amongst the students. At the second place, we find lack of resource commitment and neighbour, realistic implementation alongside poor allocated resource utilization.
As relevant statistics are not available, implementation of the kraftangan melayu, education policy has not been successfully executed. At the third place, we come across weak budgetary planning because of staggered data and least coordination among the data maintaining units (USAID, 2006). The coordination, match with the assessment, project design and implementation are not to the desired level within the government and with the donor agencies. The harmonization is missing too between the federal and on my, provincial governments which cause drastic problems in the policy implementation. The policy formulating, planning and implementing bodies work in isolation as the water tight compartments. The government's consultation is very much restricted and does not go beyond its specific quarters. It should have to be extended to non-state sectors to initiate and Patriotic Rights Essay, mobilize the action. Teachers does not normally form the part of policy making process, hence the process of sharing and consultation remains missing. It leads to implementation of educational policies without consultation, thus the efforts go in vain (UNESCO, 2007). Over the span of time, what we have learnt is to go for dialogue, and keeping the private and essay, public sector on board. The matter of access to education and challenges to quality remain at stake as being unresolved despite much policy deliberation.
Recently, Minister of Education announced a new Education policy for that next 10 years ignoring the fact that the previous educational policy span still persists that was from 1998 to 2010. The policy has projected new plans and promises to the nation pointing to the fact that all the public schools will be raised to the level of private schools within the shortest period of essay on importance of commerce time. In the absence of a plan of action, the suggested plan of action would not work. The schools have been put under obligation to use the national curriculum and encourage the students of 5th and 8th class to essay, take board exams. This has disturbed the students of private sector also. It is urged that the Universities should be the research centre’s and must not be allowed to melayu, act as the examining bodies for graduate or post-graduate examinations. Allocations are supposed to be made to the aspired levels as UNO suggests a country to allocate at least four percent of essay on my its GDP towards education but here in Pakistan we are just allocating less than two percents of GDP. Sinclair. Even that is not fully utilized because of essay on my procedural formalities.
English language should be the medium of instruction from beginning to the higher levels of learning. National language should be a supporting language for communication facilitation and Threatened Patriotic Rights, every day business. Efforts should be made to enhance the knowledge treasure in the national language through translation of the research based information. Hiring should be made from amongst the highly qualified and the teachers should be paid not according to the level of education but the qualification of the staff. Efforts should be made to bring down the on my, student-teacher ratio to 15:1 in lieu of current 40:1.
Consequently, the number of teachers will have to be enhanced, leading to the rise in number of teachers and enabling the competent persons to be inducted to the system of education. Primary education should be made compulsory and free (it is Threatened Patriotic Essay already free of cost but not compulsory). It should also be made appealing, impressive, interesting and utilitarian to attract the general masses. Teachers should be offered more financial benefits by increasing their pays. University professors should be encouraged to conduct and share the research to the concerned stakeholders.
They should also be asked to translate the foreign research into local languages for sharing it with the lower formations of education enabling them to implement/take benefit out of it. Government should strictly check all private educational institutions for keeping a balance of standards and level of practices. Students should be offered more scholarships and government should support the intelligent and outstanding students to prosper, develop and neighbour, serve their local community rather than migrating to the big cities. The dilemma here in Pakistan is that students are genius but they use their intelligence in negative way, hence, contributing nothing towards the development of country. Another problem with Pakistan is brain drain. Capable and outstanding professionals prefer foreign jobs instead of serving in their own country. This is due to the low financial benefits and kaum melayu, indifferent attitude of government towards them.
Recently Government should provide them facilities and special financial packages to encourage them to stay in their own country. In the on my, view of importance of education, the Government should take solid steps towards implementation instead of projecting policies. In this regard, the allocations should be made easy and timely from provinces to districts and on importance education, then to educational institutes. Workshops must be arranged for teachers as a continuous feature for learning. Technical education should be infused into the regular system stream. The education board of Punjab has projected a plan to give tech- education to the children of industrial workers. Promotion of the primary education should be made possible by consulting teachers, professors and educationists while devising any plan, syllabus or policy for it. There should be a balance in reliance on public and private for enabling education to reach the general masses in its true shape. Students’ outlook is to be broadened by taking them out of the books into the practical realities. Education is the only cure of disability of the state and for bringing revolution through evolution and by eradicating the social evils through education.
Education serves as the backbone for the development of nations. The countries with the essay neighbour, effective impressive need oriented, saleable and the jungle sinclair, effective system of essay education comes out to be the leaders of the world, both socially and economically. It is only education which can turn a burden of population into productive human resource. Pakistan's current state demands that the Threatened Patriotic Rights examples, allocations for education be doubled to essay on my neighbour, meet the challenges of EFI, gender disparity and provision of teachers in the work places earlier than 2018 as per stipulated qualifications. Millennium Development Goals are yet to be realized latest by 2015.
The natural calamities, political turbulence, provincialisms, and political motivations make the best planned, fail. The allocations towards the Patriotic Essay, sector of essay education could not be enhanced because of the Threatened Patriotic Rights Essay examples, earlier. We have to revisit our priorities to keep the on my neighbour, country on the track of progress.

It is the interpretation that gives meaning andsignificance both to the story and to Obesity and Television Essay, the essay. In the essay that follows, note the use of quotations and how each aids understanding and imparts asense of the style and manner of the work. Essay? James Joyce's Araby: Summary of an Child and Television, Epiphany. Each of the fifteen stories in James Joyce's Dubliners presents aflat, rather spatial portrait. Essay On My Neighbour? The visual and symbolic details embeddedin each story, however, are highly concentrated, and each story culmi-nates in an epiphany. In Joycean terms, an epiphany is a momentwhen the essence of a character is tumasek pewter, revealed , when all the forces thatbear on on my his life converge, and we can, in that instant, understand him. Each story in the collection is centered in an epiphany, and eachstory is concerned with some failure or deception, which results in re-alization and disillusionment. Araby follows this pattern. Themeaning is revealed in a young boy's psychic journey from first love to despair and disappointment, and the theme is found in the boy'sdiscovery of the discrepancy between the Obesity and Television Essay, real and the ideal in life. The story opens with a description of North Richmond Street, ablind, cold . .. Essay? silent street where the houses gazed at one an-other with brown imperturbable faces.
It is a street of fixed, decaying conformity and false piety. The boy's house contains the samesense of a dead present and a lost past. The former tenant, a priest, died in the back room of the house, and his legacy-several old yel-lowed books, which the boy enjoys leafing through because they areold, and a bicycle pump rusting in the back yard-become symbolsof the intellectual and religious vitality of the past. The boy, in themidst of such decay and essay of commerce education, spiritual paralysis, experiences the confusedidealism and dreams of first love and his awakening becomes incom-patible with and in ironic contrast to the staid world about him. Essay Neighbour? Every morning before school the start later, boy lies on the floor in thefront parlor peeking out through a crack in essay the blind of the door, watching and waiting for the girl next door to emerge from her houseand walk to school. He is shy and still boyish. He follows her, walkssilently past, not daring to speak, overcome with a confused sense ofsensual desire and and Television, religious adoration. In his mind she is both a saintto be worshipped and neighbour, a woman to be desired. His eyes are often fullof tears, and one evening he goes to the back room where the priesthad died.
Clasping the palms of his hands together, he murmurs, 0love! 0 love! in a prayer not to God, but to the concept of love andperhaps even to the girl, his love. Walking with his aunt to shop onSaturday evenings he imagines that the girl's image accompanies him,and that he protects her in places the most hostile to romance. Inthe mixed symbolism of the Christian and on importance of commerce, the Romantic or Orientalmyths Joyce reveals the epiphany in the story: These noises con-verged in on my a single sensation of life for me: I imagined that I bore mychalice safely through a throng of foes. He is why high school, unable to talk to thegirl. Drifting away from his schoolmates' boyish games, the boy hasfantasies in his isolation, in on my neighbour the ecstasy and pain of first love. Of Commerce? Finally the girl speaks to the boy. She asks him if he is going toAraby. He replies that if he does he will bring her a gift, and fromthat moment, his thoughts upon the mixed imagery of the saintly lightupon her hair and the potential sensuality of the white border of apetticoat, the boy cannot sleep or study. The word Araby cast anEastern enchantment over him, and then on the night he is to go tothe bazaar his uncle neglects to essay on my, return home. Neither the aunt noruncle understands the boy's need and anguish, and thus his isolationis deepened.
We begin to see that the Rights Essay, story is not so much a story oflove as it is a rendition of the essay on my neighbour, world in which the boy lives. The second part of the story depicts the boy's inevitable disap-pointment and realization. In such an atmosphere of blindness-the aunt and uncle unaware of the boy's anguish, the girl not con-scious of the boy's love, and the boy himself blind to the true natureof his love-the words hostile to romance take on ironic overtones. These overtones deepen when the boy arrives too late at the bazaar. It is closing and the hall is in darkness. He recognizes a silencelike that which prevades a church after a service but the bazaar isdirty and Patriotic Essay, disappointing. Two men are counting money on essay a salverand he listens to kraftangan kaum, the fall of the coins. A young lady, bored withhim and interested in two men who are flirting with her, cheapensand destroys the boy's sense of an Eastern enchantment. His love, like his quest for a gift to neighbour, draw the girl to him in an unfriendly world, ends with his realizing that his love existed only in his mind. Thus. the theme of the story-the discrepancy between the real and theideal-is made final in the bazaar, a place of tawdry make-believe.The epiphany in which the boy lives a dream in spite of the Threatened Rights Essay examples, ugly andthe worldly is essay on my, brought to its inevitable conclusion: the single sensa-tion of life disintegrates. The boy senses the falsity of his dreams andhis eyes burn with anguish and anger. Essay #2 Using Setting and Atmosphere.
Remember that setting is usually a part of atmosphere and that atmo-sphere consists of the prevailing tone of the work and its resultant meaningor effect. Some works will not warrant an tumasek pewter, essay devoted to setting and at-mosphere; others, like Joyce's Araby, will be so profoundly dependentupon a particular setting that to ignore its importance will be to miss muchof the meaning of the on my, work. Dream Versus Reality: Setting and essay of commerce, Atmosphere in James Joyce's Araby Convinced that the Dublin of the 1900's was a center of spiri-tual paralysis, James Joyce loosely but thematically tied together hisstories in Dubliners by means of their common setting. Each of thestories consists of a portrait in essay on my neighbour which Dublin contributes in some wayto the dehumanizing experience of modem life. The boy in the storyAraby is intensely subject to the city's dark, hopeless conformity, and his tragic yearning toward the exotic in on importance of commerce the face of drab, uglyreality forms the center of the story. On its simplest level, Araby is a story about a boy's first love.On a deeper level, however, it is a story about the on my, world in which helives-a world inimical to ideals and dreams.
This deeper level is in-troduced and developed in essay of commerce several scenes: the opening description ofthe boy's street, his house, his relationship to his aunt and uncle, theinformation about the priest and his belongings, the essay neighbour, boy's two trips-his walks through Dublin shopping and his subsequent ride toAraby. North Richmond Street is described metaphorically and presentsthe reader with his first view of the boy's world. The street is blind; it is a dead end, yet its inhabitants are smugly complacent; the housesreflect the attitudes of their inhabitants. The houses are imperturba-ble in the quiet, the cold, the dark muddy lanes and darkdripping gardens. The first use of situational irony is introducedhere, because anyone who is aware, who is not spiritually blinded orasleep, would feel oppressed and endangered by North RichmondStreet. The people who live there (represented by the boy's aunt anduncle) are not threatened, however, but are falsely pious and dis-creetly but deeply self-satisfied. Their prejudice is dramatized by theaunt's hopes that Araby, the Obesity and Television Essay, bazaar the boy wants to essay neighbour, visit, is not14some Freemason affair, and by old Mrs. Mercer's gossiping overtea while collecting stamps for some pious purpose. The background or world of blindness extends from Child Obesity and Television Essay, a generalview of the street and its inhabitants to the boy's personal relation-ships. It is not a generation gap but a'gap in the spirit, in empathy and conscious caring, that results in the uncle's failure to arrive homein time for the boy to go to the bazaar while it is still open.
Theuncle has no doubt been to the local pub, negligent and indifferent tothe boy's anguish and impatience. The boy waits well into the eveningin the imperturbable house with its musty smell and old, uselessobjects that fill the rooms. Essay? The house, like the tumasek pewter, aunt and uncle, andlike the on my, entire neighborhood, reflects people who are well-intentionedbut narrow in their views and and Television, blind to essay, higher values (even the street lamps lift a feeble light to the sky). The total effect of such settingis an atmosphere permeated with stagnation and isolation. Kraftangan Melayu? The second use of symbolic description-that of the dead priest and his belongings-suggests remnants of a more vital past. The bi-cycle pump rusting in the rain in essay the back yard and the old yellowedbooks in the back room indicate that the priest once actively engaged in real service to God and man, and further, from the titles of thebooks, that he was a person given to both piety and flights of imagi-nation. The Jungle Sinclair? But the priest is dead; his pump rusts; his books yellow. The effect is to deepen, through a sense of a dead past, the on my, spiritual and intellectual stagnation of the present.Into this atmosphere of spiritual paralysis the boy bears, withblind hopes and kraftangan kaum melayu, romantic dreams, his encounter with first love.
In theface of ugly, drab reality-amid the curses of laborers, jostled bydrunken men and essay on my, bargaining women-he carries his aunt's parcelsas she shops in the market place, imagining that he bears, not parcels, but a chalice through a throng of foes. The noises converged in asingle sensation of life and in a blending of Romantic and Christiansymbols he transforms in his mind a perfectly ordinary girl into anenchanted princess: untouchable, promising, saintly. Setting in thisscene depicts the harsh, dirty reality of Essay, life which the essay on my, boy blindly ig-nores. The contrast between the real and the boy's dreams is should start later, ironi-cally drawn and neighbour, clearly foreshadows the boy's inability to keep thedream, to remain blind. The boy's final disappointment occurs as a result of his awaken-ing to the world around him. Essay Of Commerce Education? The tawdry superficiality of the bazaar, which in on my neighbour his mind had been an tumasek pewter, Oriental enchantment, strips awayhis blindness and leaves him alone with the realization that life andlove differ from the dream. Araby, the symbolic temple of love, isprofane. The bazaar is dark and empty; it thrives on the same profitmotive as the market place (two men were counting money on essay on my asalver); love is represented as an empty, passing flirtation.
Araby is a story of first love; even more, it is a portrait of aworld that defies the ideal and the dream. Thus setting in this storybecomes the true subject, embodying an atmosphere of spiritual pa-ralysis against which a young boy's idealistic dreams are no match.Realizing this, the boy takes his first step into adulthood. INSTRUCTIONS. It is possible in an essay to write about an isolated symbol-onewhich seems unusual, or appealing, or particularly apt. More often, though, you will deal with a central or recurrent symbol (like water inThe Great Good Place). If you write about an isolated symbol, your thesis should be a strong statement of the existence of the symbol in the work, and, the body of your essay should be composed of statements that actuallyconstitute evidence of the why high school later, existence of the neighbour, symbol. As you develop paragraphs in the body of the essay, make clear your reasons for ascribing the symbolic significance you do, show the function of the symbol in the jungle the work, and above all, prove that awareness of the symbol enriches understanding or appreciation of the work. The Central Symbol of the Church in essay on my Joyce's Araby Joyce's short story Araby is filled with symbolic images of a church.
It opens and closes with strong symbols, and in the body ofthe story, the images are shaped by the young), Irish narrator's impres-sions of the effect the Church of Ireland has upon the people of school later, Ire-land. The boy is fiercely determined to on my, invest in someone within thisChurch the holiness he feels should be the natural state of sinclair, all withinit, but a succession of experiences forces him to essay on my neighbour, see that his determi-nation is in vain. At the climax of the story, when he realizes that hisdreams of holiness and love are inconsistent with the why high should later, actual world, his anger and anguish are directed, not toward the Church, but to-ward himself as a creature driven by vanity. In addition to the im-ages in the story that are symbolic of the Church and its effect uponthe people who belong to it, there are descriptive words and essay on my neighbour, phrasesthat add to this representational meaning. The story opens with a description of the Dublin neighborhoodwhere the essay on importance of commerce education, boy lives. Strikingly suggestive of a church, the image shows the ineffectuality of the Church as a vital force in the lives ofthe inhabitants of the neighborhood-the faithful within the Church.North Richmond Street is composed of two rows of houses withbrown imperturbable faces (the pews) leading down to the tall un-inhabited house (the empty altar). The boy's own home is set in agarden the natural state of which would be like Paradise, since it contains a central apple tree; however, those who should have caredfor it have allowed it to become desolate, and the central tree stands alone amid a few straggling bushes. At dusk when the boy and hiscompanions play in the street the lamps of the street lift their feeblelanterns to the sky of ever-changing violet (timid suppliants to thefar-away heavens). Essay On My Neighbour? Since the Obesity and Television Essay, boy is the narrator, the inclusion ofthese symbolic images in the description of the setting shows that theboy is sensitive to the lack of neighbour, spiritual beauty in his surroundings.Outside the main setting are images symbolic of those who donot belong to Threatened Rights, the Church. The boy and on my, his companions go there attimes, behind their houses, along the dark muddy lanes, to where the rough tribes (the infidel) dwell. Why High School Should Start? Here odors arise from the ash pits--those images symbolic to James Joyce of the moral decay of his nation.
Even the house in which the youthful main character lives addsto the sense of moral decay. The former tenant, a priest (now dead),is shown to have been insensitive to the spiritual needs of essay neighbour, his people. His legacy was a collection of books that showed his confusion of thesacred with the secular-and there is the jungle sinclair, evidence that he devoted hislife to gathering money and furniture. He left behind no evidenceof a life of spiritual influence. Despite these discouraging surroundings, the boy is determined to find some evidence of the loveliness his idealistic dreams tell himshould exist within the essay on my neighbour, Church. His first love becomes the focal pointof this determination. In the person of Mangan's sister, obviouslysomewhat older than the should later, boy and his companions, his longings find anobject of worship. The boy's feelings for the girl are a confused mix-ture of sexual desire and on my neighbour, of sacred adoration, as examination of theimages of essay of commerce education, her reveals. He is obsessed at one and the same time withwatching her physical attractions (her white neck, her soft hair, themovement of the brown-clad figure) and with seeing her always sur-rounded by light, as if by a halo.
He imagines that he can carry herimage as a chalice through a throng of foes-the cursing, brawling infidels at the market to on my, which he goes with his aunt. Allother sensations of life fade from his consciousness and he is Essay examples, awareonly of his adoration of the blessed image. He spends his days feel-ing her summons to his foolish blood, a summons that is both astrong physical attraction and a strong pull to the holiness missing inhis life and in the lives of the people he knows. In all his watching ofher he is thankful that he can see so little, as men of his Churchhave ever been filled with holy dread to look upon essay the Virgin. Kraftangan Melayu? When the girl finally speaks to him, her words are of ordinary concerns: she asks if he is going to Araby, a bazaar in another part ofthe city.
But the boy's imagination seizes upon the name Araby andinvests its syllables with an Eastern enchantment in which his soulluxuriates. Araby becomes a place where his soul can find the mysti-cal beauty lacking in his own mundane Church. The girl cannot at-tend the bazaar because of neighbour, a retreat her convent is why high start, having that week.As a consequence the boy feels a summons that has symbolic over-tones of a holy crusade: he is determined to go forth to the en-chanted place and bring back a gift worthy to lay at the feet of his adored one. The aunt and uncle with whom he lives are insensitive to on my, hisburning need to fulfill his crusade. They are presented as persons living decently within the confines of their Church rules, but lacking avision of concerns higher and holier than mechanical conformity torules. They do, finally, though, provide the essay, florin to allow him to go to Araby. Alone, he makes his way to the place of Eastern enchantment. When he arrives, he is struck by a silence like that of a church. This is followed by another image that calls up the image at the be-ginning of the story, that of the aisle leading to on my neighbour, an altar. In this case,it is a hall leading to the booth displaying porcelain vases (chalicesfor the Eucharist), and flowered tea sets (the flowers on the altar). The great jars guarding the Threatened Rights Essay, stall can be interpreted as symbols of themysticism standing guard over the Church.
For the boy, the girl attending the stall, like Mangan's sister, be-comes an object of faith. But when she speaks-again like Mangan'ssister-her words are trivial and worldly. In a sudden flash of insightthe boy sees that his faith and his passion have been blind. He sees inthe two men counting money on a salver a symbol of the essay neighbour, moneylen-ders in the temple. He allows the pennies to fall in his pocket. Should Start Later? Thelights in the hall go out; his church is in darkness. Tears fill hiseyes as he sees himself a creature driven and derided by on my, vanity, whose foolish blood made him see secular desires as symbols oftrue faith. In this moment of kaum melayu, disillusionment he feels that he himselfis at on my, fault for being so bemused by his ideals that he failed completelyto see the world as it is. He has discovered in his Church and in love(both traditional symbols of ineffably sacred loveliness) only why high later a shoddyimitation of true beauty.
Understandably his disillusionment causes him anguish and anger. Using Myth and Archetype. The heart of myth is rooted in religion, in attempts to explain creation, thesoul, and man's place in the world. A discussion of essay, myth, therefore, mustbe preceded by your discovery of school start later, its presence in a work; and for your dis-cussion to be meaningful, you must understand the origin or source of theideas you decide to ascribe to myth. Neighbour? (In Araby, we perceive the clearpresence of a reference to Christianity.) Remember that archetype can be generously applied to a num-ber of man's values, dreams, and beliefs, but that myth comprises only apart of archetype. Archetype is a much larger term, and if you perceivesome universal experience in a literary work, it can quite logically form apart of our racial past.
Family, marriage, war, peace, the need to be lovedand to live forever: these are patterns, emotions, and drives we share withour ancestors. They change little with time, and Rights, each generation respondsto them with deep emotions. The presence of archetype in on my a work givesthat work added importance and an essay defining the archetype, its effectand resultant added meaning will be of value to readers who may have re-sponded but have not discerned why. To write an essay using myth and Threatened examples, archetype, determine how theirpresence influences and reveals the meaning of the work. Essay On My? If myth or arche-type becomes the the jungle sinclair, basis of a work (as they do in Araby), an essay point-ing out neighbour, their meaning will provide you with a ready-made thesis. Rights? Orderingthe development of your essay will become relatively simple, for the stagesof the reenactment of the archetypal pattern will direct your presentation. If, on the other hand, the use of on my, myth does not form the basis of the entirework, but is only an enrichment of another pattern, your order of develop-ment will be somewhat more complex.
In this case you will need to deter-mine the precise function the single use of the mythic element serves andthen center your thesis on this function. The Lonely Quest of James Joyce's Araby Probably no other twentieth century short story has called forthmore attention than Joyce's Araby. Some universality of Threatened Rights Essay, experiencemakes the story interesting to readers of all ages, for they respond in-stinctively to an experience that could have been their own. It is apart of the instinctual nature of essay neighbour, man to long for the jungle sinclair what he feels is thelost spirituality of his world. In all ages man has believed that it ispossible to search for and find a talisman, which, if brought back, willreturn this lost spirituality.
The development of theme in Araby re-sembles the essay on my neighbour, archetypal myth of the quest for a holy talisman. In Araby, Joyce works from a visionary mode of artisticcreation-a phrase used by psychiatrist Carl Jung to describe the,'visionary kind of literary creation that derives its material fromthe hinterland of man's mind-that suggests the abyss of school later, time sepa-rating us from prehuman ages, or evokes a superhuman world of con-trasting light and darkness. It is on my, a primordial experience, which sur-passes man's understanding and to which he is therefore in danger ofsuccumbing. 1 Assuredly this describes Joyce's handling of the mate-rial of Essay, Araby. Essay Neighbour? The quest itself and its consequences surpass the un-derstanding of the young protagonist of the story.
He can only feelthat he undergoes the experience of the kraftangan kaum, quest and naturally is con-fused, and at the story's conclusion, when he fails, he is anguishedand angered. His contrasting world of light and essay on my neighbour, darkness containsboth the lost spirituality and the dream of tumasek pewter, restoring it. Because ourown worlds contain these contrasts we also feel, even though theprimordial experience surpasses our understanding, too. It is true, as a writer reminds us, that no matter the on my, work,Joyce always views the order and disorder of the world in terms ofthe Catholic faith in which he was reared. 2 In Araby, however, there is, in addition, an overlay of Eastern mysticism. This diversity of on importance, background materials intensifies the universality of the experience. We can turn to the language and the images of the story to see howthe boy's world is shown in terms of these diverse backgounds. There is little that is light in the comer of Dublin that formsthe world of the essay, story, little that retains its capability to evoke spiri-tuality.
North Richmond Street is blind; the houses stare at one an-other with brown imperturbable faces. On Importance Of Commerce? The time is winter, with itsshort days and essay on my neighbour, its early dusk. Only the boy and his laughing, shoutingcompanions glow; they are still too young to have succumbed tothe spiritual decay of the adult inhabitants of Dublin. But the boysmust play in Child Obesity Essay dark muddy lanes, in dark dripping gardens, neardark odorous stables and ashpits. Joyce had said of on my neighbour, Dubliners, the collection of why high school start later, stories from which Araby comes, that he intendedto write a chapter in the moral history of my country and I choseDublin for neighbour the scene because that city seemed to me the centre ofparalysis. 3 The images of the story show us that the spiritual envi-ronment of the boy is education, paralyzed; it is musty, dark. Everywhere in his dark surroundings the boy seeks the light. He looks for it in the central apple tree-symbol of on my neighbour, religiousenlightenment-in the Patriotic Essay examples, dark garden behind his home.
The gardenshould be like Eden, but the tree is overshadowed by the desolationof the garden, and thus has become the tree of essay on my, spiritual death. Helooks for light in the room of his home where the former tenant, apriest, had died, but the only objects left by the priest were books, yellowed and damp. Here, too, the why high, quest has failed. No evidence ofspiritual life remains. Decay and rust have taken over all the treasures the essay, priest had laid up on earth for himself. Into this world of darkness appears a girl, Mangan's sister. Be-cause of her the boy feels a surge of should later, hope that now in her love he willfind light. Even though he has never spoken to her, except for a fewcasual words, her name is like a summons to all his foolish blood. His youthful imagination sees her always surrounded with light; sheis the contrast to his dark world. She becomes an image to him of essay on my neighbour, allthat he seeks.
That image accompanies him even in places the mosthostile to romance: the tumasek pewter, market and the streets, among the drunkenmen and bargaining women, amid the curses of labourers, the shrilllitanies of shop-boys. In this unlikely place occurs what Joyce calls an neighbour, epiphany, which to him means a sudden spiritual manifesta-tion, when objects or moments of inconsequential vulgarity can betransfigured to something spiritual.4 The boys says, I imagined that Ibore my chalice safely through a throng of Threatened Rights Essay, foes. Plainly he has feltthe summons to cherish the holy, the light, in this dark world ofthose who are hostile to the sacred. Essay Neighbour? However, what he feels is Child Obesity and Television, beyond his understanding. His lovefor the girl is part sexual desire, part sacred adoration. He is, he says, confused. On My? He loses interest in his school and in everything about him; hethinks of nothing but the Rights Essay examples, girl. He can see her dark house, herbrown-clad figure touched by lamp-light. He feels that he has foundone image of holiness in his world of lost spirituality.
If he can gainthe girl, he feels, the light will be restored to his dark existence. In his one conversation with her she reveals that she cannot goto Araby, a bazaar she would like to attend. She suggests that itwould be well for him to go. He speaks impulsively: If I go I willbring you something. His opportunity has come. Essay? He can go toAraby-his soul luxuriates in the very syllables of the mysticallymagic name-and he can bring back a talisman to secure his favorwith her. The lost light of essay on importance, his world will be restored.
Undoubtedly, as a writer suggests, Araby is Arabia, which is associated with thePhoenix, symbol of the renewal of life. On My Neighbour? 5. Over half the story is concerned with the delays and frustrationsin his plans for his quest, and with his final journey to the en-chanted place, where the talisman will be procured. Significantly, he must go to Araby alone. The train is deserted; when throngs of buy-ers try to press their way onto the train the porters move them back, saying this is a special train for the bazaar. All who go on a questfor the high and the holy must go alone. Arriving, he finds the bazaar nearly empty. He recognizes a si-lence like that which pervades a church after a service.
The churchis empty; it is not attended by the faithful. Two men count money ona silver salver. The young lady who should attend him ignores himto exchange inane vulgarities with two young gentlemen. Suddenly from the trivialities here the boy experiences anotherepiphany, a sudden showing forth in which his mind is floodedwith light, with truth. He can see the parallel that exists between thegirl here and his girl; he can see his feeling for her for what it is-physical attraction. Her brown-clad figure is one with the drabworld of North Richmond Street. Here, instead of Eastern enchant-ment, are flimsy stalls for buying and selling flimsy wares. His grailhas turned out to tumasek pewter, be only flimsy tea sets covered with artificial flow-ers. As the upper hall becomes completely dark, the boy realizes thathis quest has ended. Neighbour? Gazing upward, he sees the tumasek pewter, vanity of imagininghe can carry a chalice through a dark throng of essay neighbour, foes. 1 Carl G. Jung, Modern Man in Search of a Soid. trans.

USING POINT OF VIEW. If we draw an analogy of a multistoried house withwindows on all sides, we can understand that a person's view of the worldcan vary greatly, depending on which window he views it from; whether heis outside looking in; or whether, distantly, he looks at the house and the surrounding countryside simultaneously. Threatened? Certainly our view of essay on my, a characterwill depend upon our position in Child Obesity Essay relation to essay neighbour, the scene, just as his view islimited by essay, the author. Essay On My Neighbour? Henry James considered the positioning of both characters and narrator crucial to fiction, and in recent years (in fact since his detailed studiesof point of view) critics have considered the artist's use of point of view the central focus for interpretation. Look at the questions point of view provokes. Does the viewpoint allow for irony? Does it limit sympathy or does it evoke greater sympathy? Does it causeattitudes to be formed? What are they? Does choice of this particular nar-rator or persona influence the examples, reader's view of the situation? How?
Does itcontrol imagery and on my neighbour, symbolism? In your conclusion, reaffirm your thesis by showing the overall effec-tiveness of the point of why high school start later, view on the work. Did the work gain much or littlefrom its use? Study the following essay to better understand how point ofview in Araby frees language, achieves psychic distance, and intensifiesthe experience portrayed. THE IRONIC NARRATOR OF JAMES JOYCE'S ARABY Although James Joyce's story Araby is told from the first per-son viewpoint of its young protagonist, we do not receive the impres-sion that a boy tells the story. Instead, the narrator seems to be a manmatured well beyond the experience of the story. The mature man re-minisces about his youthful hopes, desires, and essay neighbour, frustrations. Morethan if a boy's mind had reconstructed the events of the story for sinclair us,this particular way of telling the story enables us to essay on my, perceive clearlythe torment youth experiences when ideals, concerning both sacredand earthly love, are destroyed by a suddenly unclouded view of theactual world.
Because the man, rather than the boy, recounts the experi-ence, an ironic view can be presented of the Obesity, institutions and personssurrounding the essay on my neighbour, boy. Threatened Patriotic Rights Examples? This ironic view would be impossible for theimmature, emotionally involved mind of the boy himself. Only an adult looking back at neighbour, the high hopes of foolish blood and its resul-tant destruction could account for the ironic viewpoint. Throughoutthe story, however, the narrator consistently maintains a full sensitiv-ity to his youthful anguish. The Jungle? From first to last we sense the reality tohim of his earlier idealistic dream of beauty. The opening paragraph, setting the neighbour, scene, prepares us for theview we receive of the conflict between the the jungle, loveliness of the ideal andthe drabness of the actual. Descriptive words show the narrator's con-sciousness of the boy's response to beauty and the response of theneighborhood people, who are blind to essay on my, beauty: North RichmondStreet is blind; its houses, inhabited by decent people, stare un-seeingly at one another-and all this is under a sky of ever-changingviolet, in tumasek pewter a setting of gardens marred by the odours of ash-pitsand dark odorous stables. The boy's own house, which had form-erly been inhabited by a priest, is placed in a garden like that ofEden.
It is a place of potential holiness, shown to us in the irony ofthe garden's barrenness and essay, the priest's worldliness: the garden hasnow only a central apple tree and a few straggling bushes; thepriest had died and left behind him evidence of his preoccupationwith secular literature and with collecting money and furniture. Into this setting appears a figure representative of all that isideal, the girl. The narrator shows us in a subtly ironic manner thatin his youthful adoration of Mangan's sister she is, confusedly, theembodiment of Obesity and Television, all his boyish dreams of the beauty of physical desireand, at the same time, the on my, embodiment of Essay, his adoration of all that isholy. In his dark environment Mangan's sister stands out, a figure al-ways shown outlined by light, with the power to set aflame in him azeal to conquer the uncaring and the unholy. Her image, constantlywith him, makes him feel as though he bears a holy chalice througha throng of foes-the Saturday evening throng of drunken men, bargaining women, cursing laborers, and all the others who have noconception of the mystical beauty his young mind has created in thisworld of material ugliness. He is alone as a boy, the man narrator shows us, with his viewof the possible loveliness of the world. Even the essay, aunt and tumasek pewter, uncle withwhom he lives are callous to his burning need to go to the bazaar, which looms in his imagination as a place of mystical Eastern en-chantment, to purchase a gift worthy of his loved one.
Looking back, the narrator can see that his uncle had been concerned with his daily, worldly tasks, his aunt with maintaining a decent observance ofthis day of our Lord, although she does not want him to be disap-pointed in neighbour his wish to go to the bazaar. From the vantage point ofmaturity the narrator can realize that the aunt and tumasek pewter, the uncle perhaps once possessed an awareness of the romantic, an awareness that hassince been clouded by the drabness of North Richmond Street. Like Stephen Dedalus of Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as aYoung Man, the boy, then, must seek for the high, the inviolate, byhimself. And, also like Stephen, he finds instead the world. When heenters Araby the boy sees its resemblance to an emptied church, andthat is the irony so far as maturity can view it: Araby is not a holyplace because it is not attended by the faithful. He has come alone on a deserted train; the bazaar, full of spu-rious wares, is tended by uncaring people who leave him even morealone than he had been before; the young lady who should havewaited on him ignores him to joke with two young men. Essay On My Neighbour? The younglady's inane remarks to the young men have a ring in the memory ofthe mature narrator reminiscent of his adored one's remarks. Both areconcerned with the material, the crass. Tumasek Pewter? The narrator can, with his backward look, supply us with twoapprehensions: one, the fully remembered, and on my neighbour, thus fully felt, anguishof a too sudden realization of the disparity between a youthful dreamof the mystic beauty of the kaum, world and his actual world; and two, theirony implicit in a view that can see the dream itself as a vanity.
In his brief but complex story, Araby, James Joyce concen-trates on character rather than on plot to essay on my, reveal the ironies inherentin self-deception. On one level Araby is Child Essay, a story of initiation, of aboy's quest for the ideal. The quest ends in essay neighbour failure but results in aninner awareness and a first step into manhood. On another level thestory consists of a grown man's remembered experience, for the storyis told in retrospect by Rights examples, a man who looks back to a particular momentof intense meaning and insight. As such, the boy's experience is essay on my neighbour, notrestricted to why high school should later, youth's encounter with first love. Rather, it is a portrayalof a continuing problem all through life: the incompatibility of theideal, of the essay on my neighbour, dream as one wishes it to be, with the bleakness of real-ity.
This double focus-the boy who first experiences, and the manwho has not forgotten-provides for on importance of commerce the dramatic rendering of astory of first love told by a narrator who, with his wider, adult vision, can employ the sophisticated use of irony and symbolic imagery nec-essary to reveal the story's meaning. Essay On My Neighbour? The boy's character is indirectly suggested in the opening scenesof the story. He has grown up in the backwash of a dying city. Sym-bolic images show him to tumasek pewter, be an individual who is sensitive to the factthat his city's vitality has ebbed and left a residue of empty piety, thefaintest echoes of romance, and only symbolic memories of an activeconcern for God and fellow men. Although the young boy cannot ap-prehend it intellectually, he feels that the neighbour, street, the town, and Irelanditself have become ingrown, self-satisfied, and unimaginative. It is a. On Importance Of Commerce Education? world of spiritual stagnation, and as a result, the boy's outlook is se-verely limited. He is essay on my neighbour, ignorant and therefore innocent.
Lonely, imagin-ative, and Child Obesity and Television, isolated, he lacks the understanding necessary for evalua-tion and perspective. He is at first as blind as his world, but Joyceprepares us for his eventual perceptive awakening by tempering hisblindness with an unconscious rejection of the spiritual stagnation ofhis world. The boy's manner of thought is also made clear in the openingscenes. Religion controls the lives of the inhabitants of North Richmond Street, but it is a dying religion and receives only lip service. The boy, however, entering the new experience of first love, finds hisvocabulary within the experiences of his religious training and the ro-mantic novels he has read. The result is an idealistic and confused in-terpretation of love based on quasireligious terms and the imagery ofromance. This convergence of two great myths, the Christian with itssymbols of hope and sacrifice and the Oriental or romantic with itsfragile symbols of essay neighbour, heroism and escape, merge to form in his mind anillusory world of mystical and ideal beauty. This convergence, whichcreates an epiphany for the boy as he accompanies his aunt throughthe market place, lets us experience with sudden illumination the tex-ture and content of his mind. We see the futility and stubbornness ofhis quest. Tumasek Pewter? But despite all the on my, evidence of the essay of commerce, dead house on a deadstreet in essay a dying city the boy determines to bear his chalice safelythrough a throng of foes. He is blindly interpreting the world in theimages of his dreams: shop boys selling pigs' cheeks cry out in shrilllitanies; Mangan's sister is saintly; her name evokes in him strangeprayers and praises. The boy is extraordinarily lovesick, and fromhis innocent idealism and stubbornness, we realized that he cannotkeep the dream.
He must wake to the demands of the world aroundhim and react. Thus the first half of the story foreshadows (as the manlater realizes) the boy's awakening and essay, disillusionment. The account of the boy's futile quest emphasizes both his lonelyidealism and his ability to achieve the perspectives he now has. Thequest ends when he arrives at the bazaar and realizes with slow, tor-tured clarity that Araby is not at all what he imagined. It is tawdryand dark and thrives on essay the profit motive and the eternal lure itsname evokes in men. The boy realizes that he has placed all his loveand hope in a world that does not exist except in his imagination. Hefeels angry and betrayed and realizes his self-deception. He feels he isa creature driven and Threatened Patriotic Rights Essay examples, derided by vanity and the vanity is his own.
The man, remembering this startling experience from essay on my, his boy-hood, recalls the moment he realized that living the tumasek pewter, dream was lost asa possibility. That sense of loss is intensified, for essay on my neighbour its dimension growsas we realize that the desire to, live the tumasek pewter, dream will continue throughadulthood. At no other point in the story is characterization as brilliant asat the essay, end. Joyce draws his protagonist with strokes designed to let usrecognize in the creature driven and derided by vanity both a boywho is school, initiated into knowledge through a loss of innocence and aman who fully realizes the incompatibility between the beautiful andinnocent world of the imagination and the very real world of fact. InAraby, Joyce uses character to embody the theme of his story.

Essay: The South China Sea Conflict. In order to better understand how these terms relate to what this paper wants to on my neighbour explain and develop, in what follows, a historical background of the conflict will be contained and explained. After that the flow of arguments will be comprehensive for the reader. The South China Sea conflict is not a new one and it has a lot of implications. Only an overlook of this conflict can be explanatory enough in order for the paper to be relevant. 2.2 Historical background of the conflict. The South China Sea is a semi-enclosed sea that includes several islands and important resources. Kraftangan Melayu? The area includes the Paracels and the Spratlys islands. On My? The area started to be of importance after the 20th century, and kraftangan melayu until that moment it did not represent worth mentioning in essay on my neighbour any negotiation or war. At the beginning the Paracels and why high school start the Spratlys islands were under French domination and after the defeat of France in World War II, they were handed over to Japan. It remained under Japanese domination until the essay neighbour, end of the war and after the war ended Japan renounced its sovereignty over the region.
The archipelagoes remained unoccupied. On Importance Of Commerce Education? This was the moment in which the region started to raise interest in the eyes of the neighbors and they started negotiations as everyone wants a part of rich resources that the area has (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). The issue became of importance for the entire world, not only for neighbour, those that would have a direct control over the region. Tumasek Pewter? For the countries surrounding South China Sea the most important issue is the issue of sovereignty. Especially for the traditional countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam sovereignty is an important factor that matters for the image of the country. Essay Neighbour? The retrieval of islands and of under their domination would erase to a certain extent the humiliation that they had to face when the area was under European domination. Essay? For China for example, the entire SCS belongs to it (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013).
The economic benefits are an important factor that heightens the desire of PRC for the region. Resources are mainly of interest for all the parties involved in essay on my this conflict and ultimately high stakes mean hard negotiation. Obesity? The large quantities of natural resources, especially energy and a large amount of neighbour fish resources made countries that do not consider sovereignty such an important issue to become interested in the area as well. Another debatable issue would the Essay examples, amount of essay on my neighbour oil that could be exploited in the South China Sea, but the numbers are high (Ma Shaohua, 2006). Given the fact that most of the countries in the area are oil importers, the eagerness to dominate the why high school later, region becomes clearer. Great emphasis is neighbour put on the jungle sinclair the fishery business especially because of the shortages announced in what regards the seafood stock of essay Asian countries in the region. In China, for example, the seafood consumption has grown to a high extent in the last years (Ma Shaohua, 2006). It is important to note the reasons for which non-claimants are interested in the area. If the region would pass under the sovereignty of a given state the free pass of essay of commerce education ships in on my the area would not be free anymore.
Under these circumstances free navigation is an kraftangan, important element that needs to neighbour be taken into consideration in this equation (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). Important shipments pass through the region with cargos that are directed towards United States, Japan and Middle East. Trade is Essay exercised to a great extent there and domination would restrain the trade. On My? These countries would prefer a free lane of passage in order to ensure that their shipments reach the destination and they want to ensure this as peacefully as possible (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013). China assumes that some ancient Chinese objects found in the area ensure the Chinese sovereignty in the region. Also, documents and ancient Chinese writings have been presented as proof for the sustaining China’s point of view. Besides the why high start later, upper mentioned attempts China also forcibly tried to gain access to on my Paracels islands in 1947 when it they attacked the Vietnamese forces. In that moment they were more interested in the Paracels islands and in this way they ended the on importance education, Vietnamese presence in the western part of the archipelago (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002).
Vietnam considers on the other hand that the Paracels islands were part of Vietnam and this is the reason for which they were together colonized by France. Also, they claim that the islands were returned to essay neighbour Vietnam by France after WWII . Vietnam still maintained its territorial claim even if after 1974 the area was under Chinese control (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). Attempts have been made on both sides to start military actions against the other, but except for the 1974 violent encounter, they did not take under domination the archipelago in a violent manner. The Paracels islands are disputed mainly by tumasek pewter, China, Vietnam and Taiwan. The archipelago is located in essay on my neighbour the northwestern part of the South China Sea and in this particular part the main issue is that of domination over the region. The other archipelago that is disputed is the Spratlys that is located to the South of the Sea.
Here the kraftangan kaum, controversies are of a higher degree because it involves as well the on my neighbour, free pass of shipments mentioned before. This area is disputed by several countries like China, Vietnam and Taiwan and besides these three by Brunei, The Philippines and Malaysia. Indonesia only wants the Natuna, an island close to the Indonesian shore, territory that is claimed by China as well (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). The countries involved in the Paracels dispute sustained their claims based on historical proves, however the Threatened Essay examples, other actors involved decided to on my neighbour use International law to back-up their stories. With regards to this they used especially the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea that helped them contra-argument the historical implications presented by the others. Military forces have been deployed on the islands from Child and Television all parties involved except Brunei. In this way China sent troops on 9 islands, Taiwan enjoys one island, but the biggest one from the Spratlys archipelago, Malaysia has three, Philippines 8 and Vietnam is the proud occupant of essay 25 little islands (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Martin, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002).
The distribution of islands started in 1970 and since then each of the countries involved started to get their fair share of on importance of commerce islands. Even if China claims the entire region, it was the last one to neighbour actively occupy islands (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). China wants everything and considers that the islands belong to it entirely without possibility for division. Important to mention here is that China started its occupation through an attack against Vietnam and it was the only one that adopted this type of method of occupation. That particular moment was the trigger that made China to be seen as a possible danger by the entire international scene and Threatened Patriotic Rights it always raised international concern. China made another attempt against Philippines and this turnover made things worse as the Philippines was part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations . Essay Neighbour? This pin point represented the moment in which everyone realized the importance of the matter and the fact that an unresolved conflict may start another violent treat from China. Especially after the Cold war China became an important power, fact which made its neighbors be afraid of a possible treat from China (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002).
After 1990 the region started to present tensions and tumasek pewter unrest and starting to gain more and more attention from the international scene. Essay? The first matter on Threatened Essay the list was to essay stop China from the violent stand that it took and to make sure that the conflict would be solved peacefully. In that moment multilateral negotiations started to seem a good option, engaging in this way the parties into a coordination of policies that would allow further development. This approach was embraced by the jungle sinclair, the Asian states and especially within ASEAN that has as a main bases of essay functioning this cooperative method. Member states of ASEAN are confident about this method and the unilateral way in which China tried to continue its endeavors started to become a great issue (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). The Jungle? The fact that China represented and still represents a great power, made it difficult for the other countries to engage or not in a negotiation process. The main topic of discussion was to on my neighbour introduce China in the multilateral process.
The conflict itself involves several actors, so for essay education, all of them it is clear that a multilateral negotiation would be of a great importance. A bilateral approach would only increase tensions and suspicion. Also, the parties involved believe that bilateral negotiations would represent an advantage for China to continue its hegemonic expansion in the region and in the same time this ASEAN way would make China embrace this type of conflict resolution for the future. Important to note is that China does not have the exercise of multilateralism and it is of great importance to take into consideration the fact that the Chinese way of government does not permit external intervention is national business (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Martin, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). Even if China was reluctant at essay the beginning Premier Li Peng’s visit in 1990 was an attitude considered as a proof that China would engage in why high school should peaceful conflict settlement.
The Chinese Premier announced that China would like to cooperate in the settlement of the conflict. Soon, the Chinese foreign minister decided that they would still like the on my, bilateral negotiation. They tagged the multilateral negotiations as consultations, but never acknowledged their true essence. The first attempt to melayu start multilateral cooperation was the workshop hosted by Indonesia called ‘Managing Potential Conflicts in the South China Sea’ . The first meeting was supposed to find out the real strategy of China and it was exclusively created for ASEAN members (Ma Shaohua, 2006; Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014; Kivim??ki, 2002). From then on China embraced thise project and essay on my joined the meetings organized. In 1991 China had the chance for the first time to have a stand in Rights multilateral discussions. At first the members tried to discourage Chinese participation in dialogue being afraid of what they may say. In this way they avoided the discussions regarding the disputes and this first meeting with China was an introductory discussion more than an essay neighbour, actual dialogue. Chinese representatives embraced this approach and start later during the essay, meeting in 1992, when Vietnam started the discussions with regards to the issue in the South China Sea, China reiterated its position and adopted the formal position again. In 1995 the First ASEAN Regional Forum was organized and it represented the moment in Child and Television Essay which the issue was actually discussed.
In 1995, after the Mishief Reef incident, China announced that wanted to negotiate peacefully the entire issue, but its actions were others (Ma Shaohua, 2006) Of course that not all disputes are centered on neighbour China and another country, other countries have overlapping claims, the difference is that they adopted the multilateral method before and negotiations were started earlier. Malaysia and the Philippines also had disputes regarding the Louisa Reef, but did not result in a violent encounter (Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014). Threatened Patriotic Essay? The other countries managed to show solidarity and to share their concerns upon jurisdictional issues. After 2000 various encounters took place and for essay on my neighbour, example, in 2001, US EP-3 conducting a reconnaissance flight in the South China Sea entered a collision with one Chinese F-8. On Importance Education? The circumstances of the collision are not clear and it was all interpreted as a miscalculation, representatives of both countries being advised to better calculate trajectories in order to avoid such incidents (Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014). In 2009, the issue of international security was raised again when in March Chinese vessels clashed with US surveillance ships. China accused the United States, claiming that the presence of the American vessels in the area is not legal. Essay Neighbour? The requests for the America Impeccable vessel to leave the essay of commerce education, area were quite violent from the Chinese party and ASEAN started to be more and neighbour more concerned (Rotolo, 2013; Martin, 2013; Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014).
These types of issues continue to occur all the time and on importance most of the declared encounters on sea are portrayed as harassments of Chinese ships. The delimitations imposed by law are not clear and in many instances there was a necessity to delimitate the continental shelf. The first limit imposed was that each island should be entitled to 12 miles of territorial sea. There are no concrete requirements in on my neighbour what regards the rights of exploitation of resources or fishery in the rest of the sea and this has also raised tensions between the tumasek pewter, neighboring countries in the region (Roy, 2013; Shicun#038;Hong, 2014). Even after tens of on my neighbour years since the dispute started the situation is basically the same. Threatened Patriotic Essay Examples? After many negotiations, multilateral or bilateral, this situation escalated in 2014 when China placed an essay, oil rig the South China Sea, near the Paracel Islands (The Guardian, 2014; CNN, 2014; The Diplomat, 2014; The Times, 2014). In 2014, China, Vietnam and the Philippines were involved in a series of incidents. Vietnam accuses China of treats against the ships that were passing near the and Television Essay, Paracels islands, currently under Chinese administrative control. China responds that they were treated as such because they were interrupting the drilling activities and are undergone by China in the region. Also, another Chinese ship this time was stopped by the Philippines’ authorities when it was trying to pass near the Spratlys islands. More and more scholars debated the on my neighbour, idea of an essay on importance of commerce education, imminent armed conflict in the region.
As mentioned before in the paper, one of the most important and essay on my defining issues that escalated the conflict was the tumasek pewter, oil rig planted by on my neighbour, China near the Paracels islands (The Guardian, 2014; CNN, 2014; The Diplomat, 2014; The Times, 2014). Vietnam was the country that opposed the most this move made by the Chinese oil company CNOOC. China deployed military vessels in the region to ensure the Obesity Essay, free activity of the essay neighbour, rig with its three miles of exclusion zone. The vessels collided with several US and other types of ships trying to free pass the area. Most of the ships were fishing ships and trade ships. Chinese representatives declared that Vietnam is the one causing conflict given the fact that they consider the area China’s territorial waters (The Guardian, 2014; CNN, 2014). China’s actions to put the drill in why high later the disputed area was interpreted by all the actors involved in the conflict and on my the international actors as a type of unilateral behavior that was settled way back. The most important result of the latest events was an US-Philippines security past called Enhanced Defense Cooperation agreement that permits US access in sinclair the area (The Guardian, 2014; CNN, 2014; The Diplomat, 2014). After pressure from the outside actors and in order to avoid an incident as a result against on my neighbour, China from kraftangan kaum Vietnam, China decided to move the oil rig from the contested area (The Guardian, 2014).
Even if they decided to do this, the tensions between China, Vietnam and all the essay, other countries that have a share or would like to Child have a share of the South China Sea continue. China still prefers bilateral negotiations and wants the biggest share of the pie. The other countries do not stand back and lock for more and more outside support like United Sates, Japan and other Asian countries. 2.3 Theories on the South China Sea. This paper gathered together several papers on the subject. At first it might have seemed difficult to find the necessary support to write this paper on the Conflict in essay on my the South China Sea given the fact that the latest events occurred only in 2013, 2014. It was more than interesting to essay on importance of commerce education find out that this subject raised a lot of interest lately and that more and more states are involved in essay on my neighbour the conflict. Why High Start? The main issue concerning for neighbour, all the tumasek pewter, authors is the reason for which this conflict was not handled yet and essay neighbour also for them it was interesting to check the reasons for which this conflict is still dangerous and may escalate quickly.
In order for us to better understand the of commerce education, notion of negotiation and the practice of it within several domains, also this paper used Tanya Alfredson’s and essay neighbour Azeta Cungu’s article on ‘Negotiation Theory and on importance Practice’. Neighbour? This paper allowed for a faster recognition of the relevant authors that allowed concretizing the definition of terms. Kaum Melayu? Alfredson and Cungu showed in its paper that we live in a world in which people and actors in general interact in essay on my neighbour million of ways and Patriotic Rights that there is an imperative need to essay on my try to find ways to solve daily conflicts that may appear. As already mentioned, we live in a totally globalized world and it is harsh to imagine that since now this South China Sea conflict was not solved. The South China Sea conflict started to become an issue especially After the Cold War and yet as the why high should, author mentions in her article, negotiation started to be developed especially after the Cold war (Alfredson #038; Cungu, 2008). On the same path as the upper mentioned article, Professor Michael Dues explains to his students the meaning of negotiation as a peaceful way of conflict management. As he mentions, all conflicts should have a resolution. Especially conflicts that are usually located on a lower scale on the stages of conflict should be solved easily compared to other conflicts (Dues, 2010). In the on my neighbour, case of start later South China Sea it should be easier to peacefully solve a conflict through negotiation given the circumstances. There are no premises of violent conflict and it has not become yet an international incident. Only lately when China decided that it basically wants the entire sea.
It is important to note that there is always place for negotiation. Ury and essay neighbour Fisher, develop in Getting to Yes the principled negotiation theory. Their theory implies knowing the reason behind the demand in order to be able to delimitate a good negotiation (Fisher #038; Ury, 1991). Tumasek Pewter? In the case of the SCS conflict, a principled negotiation between the states involved would probably ease the tensions and essay neighbour the true reasons behind their arguments will be revealed. China claims only that it wants the region because of historical purposes. Of course that behind its demands there are other reasons as well and probably more significant.
Also, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, they also have economic and essay on importance of commerce other types of reasons for which they want the region. For example one may want a certain area because of security, one for mineral resources and one for oil, but it is important to find each country’s reasons in order to be able to find a suitable solution for all. Deepak Malhotra writes about the importance of trust in negotiation. In order to a negotiation to work it is demanding to have faith in the other. Trust is earned and it is consolidated in time, without trust there is no relation and no concession, the entire purpose of the negotiation fails.
In the case of the countries discussed before, a bilateral negotiation process will mean a change in trust. Mistrust can develop because of the secret nature of the bilateral discussions (Deepak Malhotra, 2003). Countries can become suspicious and trends can change. In this case a multilateral approach seems more feasible. Graham and Lam in their article regarding Chinese negotiation talk about the way in which Chinese negotiation goes in the context of business and essay neighbour political issues. They rely on principles and sinclair idea that the roots of the essay neighbour, culture are deeply combined with the daily life. There are eight main elements to take into consideration when negotiating with Chinese (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). All these elements lead to the fact that China would adopt a bilateral position because of cultural reasons as well. First of all, the personal connection is important for the Chinese and Asian countries. The Westerners put a lot of Child emphasize on information and innovation while the Chinese price personal relations and connections that built trust among the group (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). Secondly, Chinese people like to work with intermediaries.
The intermediary works as a mediator between those who negotiate and usually is a person trusted by both parties. Essay Neighbour? Friendship is appreciated in the Chinese culture (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). Westerners tend to kaum melayu rely more on personal face to face talks and to push the essay, limits to the point that the system may break. Chinese also appreciate social status; they are motivated when talking with people of the same position and not of melayu a lower rank (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). For example in the South China Sea conflict China might think that the countries with which has to negotiate are not of the same rank as China is. Also, with respect to this it is important to mention that in all the meetings that China was invited for essay neighbour, this purpose, they sent a person with a high position. Interpersonal harmony would be the next factor that we have to take into consideration when negotiating business with the Chinese (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). They admire and value friendly relations, friendship produces money.
This may be a good theoretical explanation for which China did not start a violent conflict yet, they know that there is a high chance for the other countries to become allies and together with the international allies to Essay examples become a real danger for essay neighbour, China. Holistic thinking is one of the Threatened Essay, most valued principles by the Chinese. The main issue that is not understood by on my, the other countries when talking about negotiation is that Chinese tend to the jungle sinclair see everything as a whole while the others take everything piece by piece (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). China for essay neighbour, sure sees the South China Sea as a whole while the others can see it as regions and islands and resources. From here the Obesity, drive demonstrated by China to have control over essay neighbour the entire area. The Jungle? They also have the exercise of thrift, meaning they like to save as much as they can and to try to negotiate until they know that they got the best prices, agreements and advantages (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). Again, as talked before here can be identified the bilateral nature of the Chinese negotiation and also this may be the essay, reason for which so far no agreement has been reached in the area. For the Chinese the position and prestige is very importance. The idea of saving face is important for all nations, but in the case of China it can be said that it is heightened (Graham #038;Lam, 2003). China is used with hard labor and hard bargaining. Under these circumstances it developed endurance to time and why high complicated situations and people.
In this way it is important to give time it time and patience. This is how they think, negotiate and essay on my neighbour decide, upon these terms it is mandatory to work and even if attempts are made for on importance education, a multilateral method to be accepted by China, it is still debatable if this will be possible. As Moffit and Bordon say in their book ‘The handbook of essay on my dispute resolution’ each conflict resolution technique needs to be tailored and adjusted in such a way in order for it to be the best resolution possible for that particular conflict (Moffit #038;Bordon, 2005). Peaceful conflict resolution is not very developed in the Asian countries and tumasek pewter this represents a risk as well. Essay On My? Only one that handles with care and kaum greatness the art of negotiation can alienate the demands of all in one offer. With regards to the reasons for which the conflict in the South China sea persists and the reasons for which it did not escalate yet, Hermans in 2012 for example was analyzing the perpetuating status of the South China Sea conflict in a thesis quite self explanatory and captivating.
In this thesis, the author tries to essay on my neighbour explain the and Television Essay, reasons for which this conflict did not escalate, but it wasn’t solved either through three perspectives: process based constructivism, hedging, and essay neighbour regional multilateralism (Hermans, 2012). As it can be seen the multilateral issue is debated and tumasek pewter linked with the conflict by other writers on the subject as well. First it is important to find reasons for which they failed in order to be able find possible solutions. The author acknowledges the fact that these region avoided violent conflict so far, but it is highly possible for an armed conflict to start in the area if this situation persists. Also, given the fact that this paper will put emphasis on on my neighbour the negotiation process, Herman’s paper provides enough information with regards to the ASEAN failures in what regards the the jungle sinclair, negotiation processes. According to the author, multilateral and bilateral negotiations have their advantages and essay disadvantages. As in the case of the why high school should start later, discussed region, multilateral negotiations have failed to deliver an outcome yet. It is important to mention here that the essay, Chinese part did not want multilateral negotiation from the beginning, wanting to adopt a bilateral process. The Multilateral method in this way could have delayed the agreement and in the jungle one way it would have been better to adopt China’s way, at least to try to solve what is of a higher importance for on my, the moment and to stabilize the area. As already mentioned this conflict does not evolve around China and other country only, even if China has the kraftangan, highest claims of all, but the conflict affects other countries as well. Neighbour? Ravi A. Balaram wrote ‘Case Study: The Myanmar and tumasek pewter Bangladesh Maritime Boundary Dispute in the Bay of Bengal and Its Implications for South China’, a paper that talks about essay neighbour one dispute upon Patriotic the claims that have been made within the South China Sea during the years.

Nov 10, 2017 Essay on my neighbour, buy essay online cheap -
find resume tips I know this is the last thing you want to do, but we’ll make it easy. Raise your hand if updating your resume is high on your to-do list. On My Neighbour? Now raise your hand if you would rather have that hand eaten off by Patriotic Rights Essay examples, a hippopotamus (what is with their violence?!) so that you have an excuse to work on essay on my neighbour, your resume another day. Yea. I get that. Threatened Rights Essay Examples? Literally no one likes doing this. That’s because it feels overwhelming. But it shouldn’t be. We consulted the help of a woman who does this for a living. Essay On My Neighbour? Her name is why high should later, Rose Keating, and together, we’re going to neighbour get you through this.
According to Keating, most hiring managers prefer one or two pages. However, “page length isn’t the kaum most critical thing,” Keating told me. “What’s important is how clearly and quickly they can see how you can help them with the job they’re hiring for.” A general rule of neighbour thumb: If you have less than five years of experience, your resume should be one page. If you have over five years of experience, you can go to two. However, consulting and investment banking require one page resumes for Patriotic Rights Essay, everyone — even if you have 20 years of experience. The goal is to on my neighbour show what you’ve been doing most recently. If you are within a year of having graduated or you’re still in school, put your education at school start later the top of your resume. On My Neighbour? (It shouldn’t take up a ton of why high school should start later page real estate.) Once you’ve been out of essay on my school for two or more years, put your eductation on the bottom. If you are getting your MBA in addition to working at your current job, put that at the top. Kaum? Your resume should read in on my reverse chronological order, from most recent title to least.
Don’t put it on your resume. And Television? Your resume should present you in the best light possible. Industries that care the most about GPAs are consulting and investment banking. Some communication agencies will use GPA as a filter because they have so many candidates, but that’s only relevant if you’ve just recently graduated. Most people drop their GPAs off their resumes after three years unless they have an exceptionally high one.
What if I pulled a Bill Gates and essay on my neighbour, didn’t graduate? You can still write the year that you plan to graduate if you plan on finishing your degree at some point in the future. For example, if you are planning to kraftangan finish your degree in 2018, dropped out in 2015 and decided to start Banana (the new Apple!), but needed to apply for side hustles, I’d write: “[Wherever You Went] University, Expected Graduation 2018.” If you completed 3 years of college but have no intention of finishing your degree, write your university name plus however many years you completed of said degree. For example: “[Wherever You Went] University, X years of a bachelor degree in journalism.” Another angle is to essay list the number of courses.
For example: Completed six business courses at [Wherever You Went] University. Only do this if it’s been a year or less since finishing these courses. Are cover letters antiquated? According to Keating, some hiring managers care if you have one, some don’t. She knows how frustrating that sounds. She also knows that some hiring managers won’t bother looking at your resume at all if they don’t like your cover letter, so to play it safe, she advises her clients to write a cover letter every time unless the tumasek pewter job description specifies not to include one.
…How the hell do I write a cover letter? Keating says that the essay best thing you can do is get good examples (ask friends, look online) and follow their structure. Here’s the basic structure: Four paragraphs: intro, conclusion, two middle paragraphs. The first middle paragraph should answer: Why you? Why are you right for this job? The second middle paragraph should answer: Why them? Why do you want to sinclair work for that company specifically? I am supposed to write one of essay neighbour these every single time I apply for a job. Yes.
But think quality over quantity. Rose Keating much prefers that her clients apply to two jobs a week with really well-crafted, highly-tailored documents rather than sending out a blast of sinclair cover letters that communicate nothing. Should I be adding color to make my resume stand out? If you’re in a creative industry, Keating says that you have more freedom to use color. Essay On My? Google “Visual resume” for ideas. (Here are some that are really out of Child Obesity and Television Essay that damn cliche box!) If you’re not a graphic designer, there are websites where you input your information and the site helps create cool visuals, like timelines and essay on my, pie charts. Threatened Rights Examples? (She recommends checking out neighbour, Smashfreakz.com) If you’re applying to Threatened Essay examples more analytical roles, keep it traditional. Don’t: tell white lies, even though “everyone does it.” It’s never necessary. Don’t misrepresent yourself. Do: present yourself and your experiences in the best light possible. Keating says to think about essay on my neighbour a resume like a first date: No one needs to know that your last relationship went up in flames.
Show off your qualities and the best parts of your personality. If you increased the Child Essay social media following from 50 to neighbour 100, that’s a 100% increase in followers — so say that. Don’t: use pronouns or write in first person. Your resume should never say “I” or “me.” Instead of, “I worked for three months on x project,” you would write, “Worked three months on x project.” Don’t: focus on tasks and tumasek pewter, responsibilities. – Instead, focus on essay neighbour, results and achievements that convey the impact of the tasks that you did and the responsibilities you had. “Tell me how well you did it,” Keating says.
– Your resume shouldn’t look like lists from and Television Essay, your job description — the essay on my person looking to hire can’t learn anything from that. Instead, write the kaum impact or the result of those actions. Essay On My Neighbour? For example: “Increased office efficiency by providing accurate and timely file management. Enabled upper level to tumasek pewter make strategic decisions by providing accurate weekly status reports.” – Empty adjectives do nothing.
Anyone can list “leader” or “hard worker.” Write something that demonstrates how you can multitask. What would not have been possible had you been unable to juggle five things at once? If you meet about 70% of the qualifications listed, go for it. They’ve written their job description for their ideal candidate — they aren’t expecting everyone to have every single item checked off, so you’ll probably get a call. Besides, you can’t get a job you didn’t apply for. If you have less than 70% of the required qualifications, don’t waste your time applying online, but do network your way into essay neighbour the company if you are passionate about what they do. 20% of Threatened Patriotic Essay your energy should go into online applications.
The rest of your energy should go into essay on my neighbour talking and meeting one on one and tumasek pewter, doing informational interviews. I am a 36 yr old in the apparel industry, with 13 years experience in trend forecasting and graphic design. After being laid off this time last year I have applied for over 150 jobs, mostly in NYC. Threatened Rights? Unfortunately, right now I live in Missouri; that’s where my previous job was located. I swear my resume is excellent, my cover letters are thoughtful, and my online portfolio is SMASHING. Yet, of 150 jobs I’ve had less than 10 calls, 3 in on my person interviews, and tumasek pewter, just 1 narrow miss for landing an actual job. Is it like this for anyone else. I know I’m qualified and neighbour, talented – previous managers and coworkers rave about me.
Sometimes I feel like there is an invisible penis drawing or something on kaum, my resume that only recruiters and on my neighbour, hiring managers can see. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. I’m sorry to hear your struggle – I went through something similiar for 1.5 years, in Child Obesity and Television NYC. On My? Hundreds of cover letters, some calls, a handful of awkward in person interviews. My anxiety about finding a long term job increased as each month went by. By getting to know people at your target companies and presenting yourself in person, they get to on my know and be impressed by the whole you, not just you on a piece of paper. If you can find a friend to stay with in NY for two weeks that would be ideal as well, it’s much easier to land a job in a new city if you can stay there while looking! Thanks for the great advice!
One of the best pieces of advice I have gotten on tumasek pewter, building your professional network – even if you don’t live in the same city as someone – is essay neighbour, reaching out to Child and Television people for informational interviews. I have done them several times and they’re always worth it. Who do you reach out to? Also is this image the work of Emily I love it I really do I can’t describe it it reminds me stuff but yet it doesn’t, like Me Early and the Dying Girl but very quintessentially MR. But error: “One pages..” should be “One page or two?” Great tips, I am 100000% bookmarking this post! Really interesting post! I think the main point in essay on my neighbour cover letter writing is that this document should tell your story. Resume is only a formal overview – cover letter gets you hired.
